Charles H. & Esther P. Miller Scholarship
The Charles H. and Esther P. Miller Scholarship was established in 2002. Born on a farm in Otoe County, Charles attended Elmwood Public Schools before pursuing a degree at UNL. Charles farmed in Otoe County where he raised angus cattle. Esther was born and raised on a farm near Blanchard, Iowa. She later moved with her family to Albion, Nebraska, where she graduated from Albion High School before attending Peru State Teacher’s College. Esther taught in Elmwood and Lincoln Public Schools before marrying Charles and becoming a farmer’s wife. Esther passed away in 1999 and Charles in 2001.
To apply, you must be a current graduating senior of Elmwood-Murdock High School in Murdock, Nebraska seeking a two or four-year degree from an accredited institution. The applicant must demonstrate academic achievement while in high school and demonstrate financial need.
