George & Lynna Gene Cook Scholarship

The *George and Lynna Gene Cook Scholarship *was established in 1999 by the Cooks. George and Lynna Gene have been active in the field of education for most of their lives and realize the importance of helping young people. George was a teacher for 21 years and currently serves as a pastor at Fellowship Community Church. Lynna Gene grew up in a family of educators, was a teacher in many schools in Lincoln, and is now a Graduate Practicum Facilitator with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. They hope that their love of students and education will benefit young people for generations to come.

To apply, you must be a current graduating senior or a former graduate of any high school in Nebraska or have successfully completed the GED. Former recipients of the George and Lynna Gene Cook Scholarship may apply. The applicant must have attained a GPA of 3.0 or the equivalent on a 4.0 scale and be pursuing a degree in ministry or education at any qualified college or university in the United States. Preference will be given to applicants who are members of First Church of God congregations that are affiliated with the Anderson, Indiana church body.

Additional application requirement: One (1) reference e-mail address of applicant’s current pastor or other current congregational leader. References will be notified to fill out an online form.
