Jeff Konkoleski Memorial Scholarship

The Jeff Konkoleski Memorial Scholarship was established by his wife, Brenda Konkoleski, and his family in 2020 to honor his life and legacy in education. On August 8, 2019, Jeff passed away at the age of 43 after a hard-fought battle against colorectal cancer. He was born February 28, 1976 in Ord, Nebraska, and graduated from Ord High School in 1994, where he participated in swing choir, baseball, football, and basketball. Jeff initially attended University of Nebraska at Kearney, and following a break in studies, Wayne State College, graduating from Wayne in 2004. He began his teaching career in Ainsworth Community Schools in 2005. He was a teacher, coach, and activities director during the 10-year career he enjoyed as an Ainsworth Bulldog. He attained his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration in 2012, moving to West Point in 2015 to become the Assistant Principal/Activities Director for West Point Public Schools. Jeff loved his work as an administrator and put all he had into helping coaches, sponsors, and students make the most out of their extracurricular activities. He left behind a legacy of serving with purpose and passion to his two young children and all those whom he impacted in the community.

To be eligible to apply you must be a graduating senior or former graduate of Ainsworth, Ord, or West Point High Schools in Nebraska. Applicants must have maintained a high school GPA of 3.0 or above and be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Education at a 4-year public or private institution of higher education. Preference will be given to those who have shown engagement in school. Returning adult students may apply.
