Lucile E. Wright Memorial Scholarship

APPLICATION THROUGH University of Nebraska-Lincoln
The Lucile E. Wright Memorial Scholarship was established by Lucile Wright to benefit students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Lucile dedicated her life to home sciences and dietetics. A graduate of Logan High School in Logan, Kansas, Lucile graduated in 1928 from Fort Hays State University with a degree in home economics. In 1940, she pursued her Masters degree in institution management. During World War II, Lucile served as an inspector and grader of processed fruits and vegetables for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. At the end of the war, Lucile became the head dietitian at Vanderbilt University. She later served as manager of food services at Gold’s department store in Lincoln through the 1950s and 1960s.

To be eligible to apply the applicant must be seeking a degree in nutrition, dietetics or food service management and be enrolled in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Applicants are required to complete the Lucile E. Wright Memorial Scholarship Application Form (obtained at the address below) and submit the form to the UNL College of Education and Human Sciences office. Applications must be postmarked or delivered by April 5th to:
