Virgil and Darlene Roush Scholarship
The Virgil and Darlene Roush Scholarships were established at the Lincoln Community Foundation to benefit students from five communities in central Nebraska. Virgil received his education in Shelton, Nebraska. He served his country honorably in the Navy during WWII. Virgil and Darlene were married in 1948. Together they built and owned Kingswood Mobile Home Estates in Grand Island, NE. Virgil helped District 74 start Grand Island Northwest High School in 1962. Darlene preceded Virgil in death in 2007. He passed away in 2011. It was their wish to contribute to the community where they lived and prospered.
To apply, you must be a current graduating senior of Gibbon, Grand Island Northwest, Hastings St. Cecilia, Shelton, or Wood River high schools in Nebraska, demonstrate financial need and scholastic achievement in high school.
