Margaret C. Stednitz Scholarship

The Margaret C. Stednitz Scholarship was established in 1991. Margaret Stednitz was a well-remembered and cherished teacher. She grew up in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, and graduated from UNL. She taught English and music in Curtis and Eagle, Nebraska, and later at Irving Junior High and Lincoln Northeast High School. Margaret retired from Lincoln Northeast and involved herself in several community organizations. She dedicated her life to music and education and wished to pass on her passion for learning to students who dream of achieving a college degree.

To apply, you must be a current graduating senior of Lincoln Northeast High School, Lincoln, Nebraska. The applicant must demonstrate scholastic application and achievement and intend to continue his/her education. The applicant must demonstrate financial need.

Note: This scholarship is not awarded until the recipient completes one full year of college with continued evidence of scholarship application and achievement. This is currently defined as maintaining a grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Upon completion of their first year of college, the recipient must provide the Lincoln Community Foundation with a transcript of their first-year grades and proof of enrollment for the upcoming fall semester.
