Dick and Chris Draper Scholarship

The Dick and Chris Draper Scholarship was established by the Draper family to benefit young people in Elgin, Nebraska. The Draper family has always had a keen interest in education. Wishing to give back to the Elgin community, the late Alice Draper of Omaha, and her family, established this scholarship to honor her husband’s parents, the late Dick and Chris Draper. Alice and her husband, Richard Jr., lived and worked in the Elgin community. Richard and his father, Dick, purchased the Bank of Elgin in the 1960s, and Richard became a major shareholder in the 1980s. Alice later served as the executive secretary and president of the bank. The Drapers were firm believers that the way to success is through education.
