Ralph and Irene Gray Scholarship for Brunswick, NE

The *Ralph and Irene Gray Scholarships for Page and Brunswick, NE *were established in 2012 after the death of Irene. Ralph was born in Page and Irene was born in Brunswick. On Aug. 17, 1945, Irene married her longtime musical associate, Ralph Gray, superintendent of schools at Inman. With Irene’s vocal music skills and Ralph being an accomplished band instructor, they literally made beautiful music together for the next 54 years. They both taught at Inman until transferring to Blue Hill, where Ralph became superintendent of schools and Irene taught English and Latin and oversaw numerous extra-curricular activities. Ralph’s promotion to the State Department of Education brought them to Lincoln, where Irene was a Greek and Latin professor at UNL until retirement.

To apply, you must be a graduating senior or undergraduate who is a resident of Brunswick, NE, planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college and maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher.
